Brief Intro

As a child growing up in Nigeria, Dr. Obinna Isiguzo’s early interest in medicine was inspired by an obstetrician/gynecologist he knew and watched on a TV health show. But later, in medical school, he discovered his fascination with the heart and his medical career took a new path. Dr. Isiguzo completed his medical degree at the University of Nigeria College of Medicine in Enugru, Nigeria, and his internship at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital in Nigeria Dr. Isiguzo moved to the United States and continued his medical training at St. Joseph Hospital at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease (invasive) at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio and served as chief fellow in his third year. After his fellowship, Dr. Isiguzo considered joining practices in Dallas and Austin until he got a call from South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants. “I was a Spurs fan, and I knew a little bit about San Antonio. So, I stopped there on my way to Austin and I quickly fell in love with the city and the practice,” Dr. Isiguzo says. “It’s a joy to practice here.” Dr. Isiguzo is board certified in cardiovascular disease.
