Dr. Nicholas Abidi attended Ursinus College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Honors in Chemistry. He went on to receive his Medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed a fellowship in Molecular Biology with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Abidi returned to the Philadelphia area for his Residency at The Rothman Insitute at Thomas Jefferson and Pennsylvania Hospitals. He completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh before becoming an associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute @ Jefferson from 1997-2000. He has practiced in the South Bay area since 2000. He has offices in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara Counties. Dr. Abidi has served as the President of the Santa Cruz County Medical Society as well as an editor or reviewer for many peer reviewed Orthopaedic Surgery publications. He is active on many committees of the AAOS and AOFAS. His practice focuses on lower extremity reconstructive surgery. He routinely performs minimally invasive anterior approach total hip replacement, partial and total knee replacements as well as total ankle arthroplasty.
