Dr. Howard has been a Board Certified Ophthalmologist since 1996, when he joined Litchfield Hills Eye Physicians. He practices general ophthalmology with an emphasis on small incision cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment. Dr. Howard received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. After receiving his medical degree from New York Medical College, he completed a medical internship year at St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York City. He then completed a residency in Ophthalmology at New York University. Dr. Howard is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. He is a member of the medical staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Dr. Howard and his wife Debbie have one son, who is an accomplished musician. When not attending his son's musical performances, he enjoys running, cycling, and photography.
