Brief Intro

I moved to California from the Midwest after finishing my medical residency. I thought I'd stay a year, but more than 20 years later I am still here. Friends, family, and a great job helped me go from having "shoots" to having "roots" here. I enjoy the rich diversity of people and activities, and of course the weather. Community involvement is important to me. I have been actively involved in Physicians for Social Responsibility in Los Angeles for a number of years. We work on providing education and advocacy for peace, security, and environmental justice, hoping to "prevent what we cannot cure," as we all hope to do with our health. Over the years I have transitioned increasingly into my administrative role as the regional coordinating physician for geriatrics and continuing care for Kaiser Permanente Southern California and as the physician-in-charge for those services at Baldwin Park Medical Center. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente as both a clinician and an administrator, working to help make our organization a model of quality health care delivery.
