I came to Chicago to do my residency training after I finished medical school in Pakistan. Having a history of respiratory problems, I chose to do a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. After I finished my fellowship, I joined the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at UCLA as a faculty member. A couple of years later, we moved to Albuquerque so that I could take a similar position at the University of New Mexico. Just before coming to Los Angeles, I was in private practice in Las Vegas. When Kaiser Permanente offered me my current position, we decided to come back home.
