Mona LaPlant, MD, MS Pediatric Rheumatologist, received her medical degree from Michigan State University in 1995. She completed her pediatrics residency, served as chief resident, and received her fellowship training in rheumatology at the University of Michigan. She completes a master degree in Clinical Research Design and Statistics from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is board-certified in rheumatology and pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She diagnoses and treats all forms of rheumatic disease in children and young adults including arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosis and myositis. She is a past recipient of the Physician Scientist Development Award from the Arthritis Foundation for her research work on medical treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus. She is an ad hoc reviewer of manuscripts for multiple rheumatology journals including the Pediatric Rheumatology On-Line Journal, Sleep and Arthritis Care and Research.
