Mitch Magee, MD, is a board-certified thoracic surgeon who serves as Surgical Director of Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology at Methodist Richardson Medical Center and has practiced at numerous DFW area hospitals since 1998. Dr. Magee is a pioneer in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and recognized expert, having authored more than 100 articles or book chapters in notable medical journals and textbooks, on minimally invasive (VATS) techniques, patient-care quality measures, diagnosis staging and treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, tumors of the thymus and mediastinum, and surgical treatment of myasthenia gravis, hyperhidrosis, and emphysema. Through affiliation with national cancer research organizations, he provides patients with new, cutting-edge treatment options and access to clinical trials. Dr. Magee founded and is Medical Director of the first Comprehensive Lung Center in North Texas which serves as a resource for primary care physicians and patients to obtain LDCT lung cancer screenings, management of lung nodules, and second opinions in management of diseases of the chest.
