I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Stanford University in 1979. This was an intense undergraduate education that prepared me for medical school at New York University School of Medicine. I finished my psychiatric training at George Washington University School of Medicine. I have been in private practice for over 25 years, a medical director of a large hospital psychiatric unit, a principal investigator for clinical drug studies, a supervisor and employee of a group of psychologists and social workers. All of these experiences have enriched my understanding from the psychiatric patient's point of view, and inform my approach to the day to day collaboration with my patients.
