Dr. Van Valkenburg joined the Lake Region Healthcare Medical Staff in 2000. Originally from Bloomer, Wisconsin, Dr. Van Valkenburg graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his residency in family practice at the University of North Dakota in Fargo. Dr. Van Valkenburg was an emergency physician in Fargo for 18 years before joining the Lake Region Healthcare team. He is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Van Valkenburg and his wife, Janeen, have three children.
