Brief Intro

I have been practicing Vascular and General Surgery at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center since 1986, with over 100 major operative cases per year. Along with my three colleagues, we care for over 400,000 members within Oregon and SW Washington. I have admitting and operating Privileges at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center, St. Vincents' Medical Center, Portland Providence Medical Center, and Southwest Washington Medical Center. Since 1998, my main interest has been Endovascular Surgery. I have attended Intermediate and Advanced Endovascular Training Courses at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center and Arizona Heart Institute, and have been trained and certified to use BOTH currently available Endovascular Grafts- AnerRx by Medtronics Corp. and Ancure by Guidant Corp. Our approach to Endovascular Surgery involves a TEAM approach: utilizing specialty skills of Dr. Roger Osborn, Invasive Cardiologist, and Dr. Brian Markey, Dr. Tony Prasad, or Dr. Arnold Klein, Invasive Radiologists. At least three Endovascular Specialists are present for all cases, which are performed in our Angiographic Suite. Since July of 2001, our Endovascular Team has successfully placed over 50 Endovascular Grafts. We are available to review radiographic films of aortic aneurysms as well as other potential Endovascular Repairs, we are available to recommend approaches to Endovascular Repairs, as well as perform Open Aneurysm Repair, if the patient desires. A full discussion of risks and alternatives will be completed before any intervention considered. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Board Certified in General Surgery since 1986. Recertified in General Surgery in 1996. Board Certified Vascular Surgery since 1992. Licensed both in Oregon and Washington.
