Dr. Boes is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with specialty certification in sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He currently serves as a Team Physician for North Carolina State University’s football and baseball team. His areas of expertise include sports medicine; arthroscopy; and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee. A Boston native, Dr. Boes completed both medical school and residency at Boston University.
He was selected for two prestigious year-long fellowships in shoulder & elbow surgery and sports medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. He received numerous awards throughout his medical training, and has authored journal articles, orthopaedic textbook chapters, and given lectures on topic such as rotator cuff repair, shoulder and elbow injuries in athletes, fracture healing, and ACL reconstruction.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, as well as the North Carolina Medical and Orthopaedic Societies.
An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Boes’ hobbies include running, golfing, hiking, swimming, snow skiing and trap shooting. His passion for health and physical activity has led him to serve on the board of trustees for Be Active North Carolina, a statewide initiative committed to helping North Carolinians improve their health and well-being by pursing physically active lifestyles.
