Dr. McKinstry is from a rural area outside of Philadelphia where her father practiced general medicine. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College and continued on at Yale University Medical School. Upon graduating from Yale, she studied in Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Following New York, she moved to California to also study at the Jules Stein Eye Institute of the UCLA School of Medicine in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. McKinstry practices at the Laguna Hills office and is also Chief of Ophthalmology at Mission Community Hospital and an assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at UCLA.
