Brief Intro

Mary Peterson, DC, graduated from the National University of Health Sciences in 1997 with a doctorate in chiropractic medicine. Dr. Mary holds advanced training in non-surgical Decompression techniques, orthotics, trauma (motor vehicle crashes), and Acupuncture. She also holds advanced training in Pedorthics. Through active listening and thoughtful questioning, Dr. Peterson is able to uncover the root cause of your pain, dysfunction and disharmony. She customizes a treatment plan for each patient and offers options to help you get the most benefit out of your care. Through this thoughtful and personalized approach, she has found that patients get lasting results and learn how to manage their condition at home without the use of drugs or surgery. She blends the best of Eastern and Western medicine to customize a treatment plan for conditions that are considered borderline (in your head) in Western Medicine. Western medicine therapies treat conditions diagnosed in the blood with powerful drugs. This is a very mechanistic approach. Eastern medicine therapies treat conditions based on symptoms that create disharmony (you just don't feel right). This is an Energetic approach. Acupuncture seeks to find the Root of a problem or Disharmony and restore Energetic Balance.Dr. Peterson treats many conditions of the joints without the use of drugs or surgery. Through careful evaluation and listening, she finds the most problematic joint and delivers a chiropractic adjustment to the joint and restores function, and relieves pain. Not only does she treat back pain, but, also treats neck pain, shoulder, elbow, and wrist pain, neuropathy, hip, knee, and ankle pain, headaches, and many more. Chiropractic care is safe, drug-free, and natural. She uses Zyto Scanning technology to uncover deficiencies in the body that are related to 4 systems: the gastrointestinal system, inflammation, emotional, and toxicity. Zyto scanning is not diagnostic but rather measures galvanic impedance in the meridians of the body. Zyto scanning can be performed monthly or during seasonal changes. During an initial evaluation, it is used to identify supplements that can help bring the body into a homeostatic range. As supplements are introduced and implemented, the readings come into a balanced zone and supplements can be re-evaluated, added, or removed."We enjoy the diversity of the southwest suburbs and the midwest values of the people. This is a wonderful area to raise a family. Our main focus is service above self and to help as many people as possible through safe, natural, gentle chiropractic and acupuncture."
