Brief Intro

Dr. Macsalka is a Chicago native who graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She and her husband, Robert Macsalka, M.D., have been in practice together at the Boulder WomenÂ’s Clinic since 1978. BWC specializes in general gynecological care. Dr. Macsalka takes a whole-person approach to womenÂ’s health care and offers special expertise in the areas of menopause/hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and osteoporosis. This experience is complemented by a history of clinical research in ovarian endocrinology, contraceptives, and post-menopausal health issues. A Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Macsalka has served on the clinical faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine since 1995. She is also an OB/GYN consultant for the University of Colorado at BoulderÂ’s Wardenburg Student Health Center. She is a member of the Colorado Medical Society and the American Fertility Society. Dr. Macsalka is a popular speaker on womenÂ’s health issues and has served a vital role in the Boulder community for more than 30 years. A former member of the board of directors at Boulder Community Hospital, she also worked on the hospitalÂ’s OB/GYN and Quality Improvement committees. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Macsalka enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her seven children, friends and pets.
