Dr. Martin Eichelberger is a pediatric surgeon and former chief of Emergency Trauma & Burn Services at Children’s National Medical Center. He is also affiliated with the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) National Resource Center, the Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network (CIREN) for children, Safe Kids Worldwide.
Dr. Eichelberger is an internationally renowned expert in the field of pediatric trauma care and injury control. He has published extensively and held visiting professorships across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Dr. Eichelberger has received numerous commendations and awards for his pioneering efforts in the care of injured children. The National SAFE KIDS campaign, SAFE KIDS Worldwide, the EMSC Resource Center and CIREN Project are all a direct result of his vision and persistence. Dr. Eichelberger’s research, advocacy, and leadership are surpassed only by his love for children.
