Mattie is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who is board certified to manage a wide range of mental health issues which include PTSD, depression, insomnia, and anxiety. Mattie's role as a PMHNP includes assessing, diagnosing, making treatment recommendations, and medication management. Mattie completed her Bachelor's in Science of Nursing at Texas A & M University and her Master's in Science of Nursing at Walden University where her studies focused on mental health. She then obtained her board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Mattie is an experienced clinician with more than 8 years of experience in mental health in a variety of roles which helped her learn how to build rapport with patients and understand the barriers they face. She focuses on medication management with a person-centered, trauma-focused approach. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Mattie understands that mental illness has no limits and crosses all ages, genders, sexual orientations, races, socioeconomic statuses, cultures, and religions.
