Dr. Mark Ortinau is a native St. Louisan and has been an active part of the community since opening his Ellisville practice in June of 1974. After graduating from Vianney High School, he performed his undergraduate training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed his graduate training at the UMKC Dental School in 1974.
In January 2004, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society presented Dr. Ortinau with the Award of Merit for his participation in Give Kids a Smile, a city wide dental outreach. This award is given for outstanding service in the community and missions.
In 1995 Dr. Ortinau received the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry for completing over 500 hours of continuing education and passing a written examination.
Dr. Ortinau is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), The Missouri Dental Association, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, and the Christian Dental Society.
He organizes and participates in dental mission trips annually to countries like Jamaica and Kosovo (Service International) attending to the dental needs of less privileged nations. Dr. Ortinau also continues his involvement with Give Kids A Smile, helping the children of the St. Louis area who otherwise may not receive dental care.
