He attended the University of Richmond receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where he earned his D.D.S. Degree with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude for his high level of scholastic achievement. Following a General Practice Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ and a year in general practice he pursued advanced specialty training in orthodontics. Dr. Caplan earned both a Masters of Science Degree and a Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Detroitâ€™s Mercy School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the New Jersey Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Caplan resides in Summit, NJ with his wife Karen and two children, Alexa and Matthew. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, skiing and spending time with his family.
