Dr. Tufte studied at the University of North Dakota (UND) before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University. Since then, Dr. Tufte has dedicated his career to providing comprehensive primary, secondary, and tertiary eye care in North Dakota, collaborating closely with ophthalmology in medical eye care. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Tufte founded the Fargo Contact Lens Center and has served as a consultant for leading companies such as Acuvue – Vistakon, Alcon – Ciba, Bausch & Lomb, and CooperVision. He has been an esteemed speaker for Alcon and Allergan Eye Pharmaceutical companies, sharing his expertise and educating colleagues on effective treatments for eye disorders. Dr. Tufte has also contributed to the field of sports vision as an Olympic vision consultant, where he tested and advised on visual performance for athletes in the Olympic Village.
