Brief Intro

Dr. Genesen received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and his medical degree from the Univeristy of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis, TN. After beginning his internship in Internal medicine at Northwestern University he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Southern California/ LA County Womenâ€™s Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He completed his fellowship in Gynecological Oncology at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with subspecialty certification in Gynecological Oncology. Dr. Genesen has practiced medicine in a variety of clinical settings, including major teaching institutions such as Northwestern Universityâ€™s Prentice Womenâ€™s Hospital in Chicago, Loma Lind Linda University Medical Center and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, as full time medical school faculty. In 1999 he was recruited back to Southern California by the nations largest and most respected group of gynecologic oncologists, who included the current or former directors of the gyn oncology programs at Scripps, Hoag Hospital, USC, UCLA, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and City of Hope among others. During the last decade there, he was responsible for developing the first comprehensive Gynecologic Oncology program and private practice in the Palm Springs area so that patients in his community could receive "state of the art" care locally and would not have to travel several hours to San Diego, Orange County or Los Angeles. He has been a very active member of his medical community, working in leadership roles with the American Cancer Society and the hospitals where he has staff priveleges. Dr. Genesen has been voted as "Top Doctor" in Palm Springs Life for the last several years along with numerous other recognition awards including for best patient satisfaction and the Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics National Faculty Award for Excellence in Education . He was lured to Tulsa by his valued friend and partner Dr. Daron Street to collaboratively provide the most up to date and sensibly aggressive care for our community while maximizing patients quality of life surrounded by a great environment for his family.
