Dr. Zapata received an undergraduate degree in 1967 and earned a medical degree in 1977 from the Universidad Autonoma in San Luis Potosi, Mexico in 1967. He completed an internship in social medicine from the Instituto Mexicano Del Seguro Social in San Louis Potosi, Mexico in 1979, and a residency in obstetrics/gynecology from Columbus Cuneo Cabrini Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois in 1983. Dr. Zapata is board certified in obstetrics/gynecology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kane County Medical Society, and the Illinois State Medical Society.
