Brief Intro

Dr. Slaughter joined GCHs dental team in January 2009. Dr. Slaughter is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Originally from Maine, Dr. Slaughter has recently worked in a private practice in Dumfries, Virginia. She is excited to be back in New England and working at Goodwin Community Health. Dr. Slaughter deeply believes in preventive dentistry, especially for children. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of oral health to overall health and well being. Dental care is frequently less equitably distributed than other medical services. It is especially important to provide early preventive care to children. Treating dental problems early helps to prevent tooth loss when the patient is older. Too often, tooth extraction is the only treatment available or affordable to patients that did not have access to regular dental care earlier in life. Frequent and early dental care is crucial to general health.
