Brief Intro

Having grown up in Wisconsin, then traveling the country, Ligeia Reinhardt, M.D. settled on a career in medicine while living in New Orleans, Louisiana and completed Medical School there. She chose to become a Family Practice physician because she wanted to treat patients as a whole. After finishing her residency in Pocatello, she moved with her family to Bonners Ferry in 2004 and worked at the Boundary Regional Community Health Center (the precursor to Kaniksu Health Services). She then spent a number of years in private practice, Bonner General Immediate Care, Boundary Community Hospital, the therapeutic boarding schools, Boulder Creek and Northwest Academy, and the Kootenai Tribal Clinic. “Each position has offered relationships and challenges that grew me as a physician and a person. For me, Boundary County is not only a place of stupendous natural beauty, four seasons, mountains and lakes; but also a place where old-fashioned integrity is not talked about, it is simply lived.” Dr. Reinhardt has a passion for horses, and currently has four, with a new foal on the way. Add in chickens and goats, ducks, and sheep, dog and cat, plus two growing teenage sons, and she stays pretty busy in her off hours. She also started a very small collection (so far) of antique vehicles. Now that Dr. Reinhardt has returned to KHS, she is looking forward to collaboration with her new colleagues as well as in the broader community. Go Badgers!
