Dr.Â Leo Richard Cacciotti was born and raised in Ithaca, NY.Â He grew up in a house on the corner of Second and Hancock, where his parents also owned and operated a small Italian grocery.Â In his early years, he attended Central School (now Beverly Martin), and was in the last class to graduate from the old Ithaca High School, now the Dewitt Mall.Â He, and his wife, Sandy, have four children and five grandchildren.Â And, yes, heâ€™s treated them all! After fulfilling his predental requirements at Buffalo University, Dr. Cacciotti graduated cum laude from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo Dental School.Â While in his four year attendance, he received fellowships in biochemistry and oral pathology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute; he was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society.Â Dr. Cacciotti received his post doctorate specialty training at SUNY Buffalo Department of Orthodontics.Â As an academic, Dr. Cacciotti has taught at the graduate level, and was instrumental in implementing a course in Cephalometric Anatomy and Myology into the Department of Orthodontics at Eastman Dental Center.Â In 1976, Dr. Cacciotti was deemed by a prestigious and nationally recognized panel of orthodontists toÂ uphold the highest level of standards in his diagnostic abilities and treatment results.Â Following this rigorous examination, he was awarded entry into the Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.Â Â Dr. Cacciotti is also a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics; the American Dental Association; the New York State Dental Society; the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists; and the Sixth District Dental Society. Now, in the year 2009, Dr. Cacciotti celebrates over 40 years of practicing orthodontics exclusively.Â He does not believe in â€œsystems.â€Â Rather, he performs all work on each patient himself, based on their individual requirements and needs.Â He and his wife, Sandy, make an office team that caters to the needs of families and individuals through courteous scheduling, first hand communication, and only the best treatment.
