Before joining Summit Medical Group Hospitalist Medicine, Leah M. Kopelan, MD, was Attending Internist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. In addition, she was Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After completing her residency, Dr. Kopelan was an associate physician in internal medicine for the Family Treatment Center, a private practice, in Palatine, Illinois. She has been an associate physician with Wellness Medical Associates and a voluntary attending physician in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Hospital- Montefiore Medical Center, both in Bronx, New York. Dr. Kopelan says, "Hospitalist Medicine inspires me because it allows me to interact with and learn from my colleagues in many specialties. During their hospital stay, patients are at their most vulnerable. I find it gratifying to help them when they need help the most."
