Lauren L. Smith, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon at Summit Orthopedics specializing in the hand, wrist, and elbow. She serves Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Minnesota and Wisconsin patients. She completed a hand surgery fellowship at the New York University Department of Orthopedic Surgery. “When I was choosing an orthopedic specialty, I wanted to focus on an area in which I could take care of people across the spectrum: children as well as older adults, trauma as well as nontraumatic injury, and hand surgery was a perfect fit,” Dr. Smith said. “Hand surgery also includes minimally invasive surgical techniques, nerve surgery, and microsurgery, all of which were appealing to me.”
