Dr. Laura Somerville is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She became a member of Allergy & Asthma Associates in 1992. She received her bachelor's degree from Rice University and completed her doctorate in biochemistry at Yale University. Her research was supported by grants from the National Science Foundation. After entering medical school in 1982 at the University of Texas at San Antonio, she subsequently specialized in internal medicine. Her clinical training in allergy and immunology was completed in 1991 at Harvard Medical School. In addition to publishing numerous medical papers on allergy and immunology, she also directs allergy training for family practice residents. Dr. Somerville's strength as an allergist is her ability to achieve a focused diagnosis, and then coordinate a workable, aggressive treatment plan with the patient.
