Kurt S. Black, DDS Doctor Kurt Black is a different kind of dentist. His use of advanced dental technology combines with a unique personal style and soothing spa-like atmosphere to make you and your family more comfortable than you ever thought possible. Dr. Black and his team provide some of the latest advances in technology, including digital x-rays, dental lasers, and mercury-free restorations. A doctoral graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and a select post-doctoral dental resident at Oregon Health and Sciences University, Dr. Black continues to attend advanced continuing education courses concentrating on cosmetic dentistry, conscious sedation, and metal-free restorations. Yet, despite his extensive focus on clinical dentistry, Dr. Black takes the time to get to know each and every patient one on one. Volunteering dental services to the Linn Benton Dental Link, NW Medical Teams, and the Assistance League of Corvallis continues to be Dr. Black's passion and he has promoted dental health as far away as Guatemala! Locally, Dr. Black is known affectionately as the "candy dentist" because of his innovative efforts to reduce tooth decay. His annual Halloween "Dollars-Not-Decay" buy-back campaign collected 973 pounds of candy this year from community children who were eager to make the exchange for freshly minted dollar bills. A matching dollar donation was made to local charity. All work and no play is not this doctor's style. Dr. Black enjoys performing with his family band, playing indoor soccer and has run a marathon and several half marathons. He and and his wife, Susan, an Oregon native, have four children and enjoy traveling and many outdoor activities including skiing, hiking and camping.
