Brief Intro

Dr. Khushbu Shah is a trained Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She completed her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and her residency training in general psychiatry at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. She has extensive experience working with mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, attention deficit hyperactive disorders, autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders, and many others. She has worked closely with school-based mental health, with a special interest in providing current, innovative treatments. Dr. Shah believes in an integrative, holistic approach to mental health. Her approach is “the East meets the West” type. It focuses on nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, sleep, mindfulness, stress reduction, coping skills, and social connections in promoting mental health. She has completed an integrative psychiatry fellowship and offers integrative and functional psychiatry evaluations in her practice. This approach to psychiatry tries to identify the root cause of the problem that may cause or contribute to psychiatric symptoms. Dr. Shah also offers school evaluations, consultations, second opinions, psychotherapy, and medication management in her practice.
