Dr. Keoni Nguyen is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in General Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. He is Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology & the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. In June of 2018, Dr. Keoni was invited to co-chair the first “Hands-on” surgical worship at the 33rd National Congress of the SIDCO, a joint meeting with the International Society for Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery ISDS that was held in Rome, Italy at Angelicum Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas. Dr. Nguyen served nearly seven years in the United States Navy as a Surface Air Rescue Swimmer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Law Enforcement for NATO Command Agnano Naples, Italy before he pursued his career in medicine. He received his undergraduate degree with Magna cum Laude at the University of South Florida. During his medical education at the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences, he served as Class President. Dr. Nguyen completed his Internship at Michigan State University and completed his dermatology residency at Tri-County Dermatology of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Nguyen developed a high-fidelity cutaneous surgical training model and received a U.S. patent in 2010. He started a manufacturing company, Dermsurg Scientific, LLC to produce the surgical models in Dayton, Ohio. Dermsurg Scientific was sold to Sim Skin. Dr. Nguyen’s contribution to the field of dermatology with his surgical model has helped the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery conduct “Hands-on” surgical workshops for dermatology residents and dermatologist nationally. Dr. Nguyen has published many scientific manuscripts in peer-review journals and has lectured at national and international conferences.
