Justin Shatto, M.D., knew he wanted to be a surgeon before applying to medical school. "I liked the idea of using my hands to improve others quality of life particularly abdominal pain," says Lake Regionals newest general surgeon. As for his decision to relocate to the lake, Dr. Shatto says the community was as much of a reason as the hospital. "Everyone here has been very friendly and inviting," he said. "And, the size of the practice will enable me to develop relationships with my patients, while allowing me time to become more involved in the community." He specializes in various open and laparoscopic surgical procedures and especially is interested in intra-abdominal surgery particularly hernia and colon surgery. In his free time, Dr. Shatto enjoys reading, running and playing guitar.
