Jonathan McCone, Jr. M.D. has been in the private practice of gastroenterology and hepatology in the Washington, D.C. area since 1977 with offices and accredited endoscopy centers in Alexandria and Lorton, Virginia and Oxon Hill, Maryland. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Howard University, he received his M.D. degree from the University of Florida, and at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, completed an internal medicine internship, two years of medical residency, and GI Fellowship training. He has a special interest in hepatitis C, and has been involved in a number of protocols over the last several years that look toward understanding factors impacting differential response rates to therapy, with publications in the Journal of Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Journal of Virology, The Lancet, and the New England Journal of Medicine. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, he is a member of the AMA, the Medical Society of Virginia, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Gastroenterology. _
