Dr. John V. Petro is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He graduated from the Univesity of Southern Mississippi and received the his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. He served an internship in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at the University Medical Center. Specialty training was completed in Ophthalmology at the University Medical Center. Dr. Petro joined Green Eye Institute in 1986.
