Dr. Stathakis is from New Jersey and graduated from Philadelphia College of Medicine as an Osteopathic Family Physician specializing in Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery. In 1978 Dr. Stathakis moved to Phoenix and for more than twenty five years has been in private practice.
Having served four years in the Navy and the Air Force, he received accommodations from both branches, and was later stationed at Luke Air Force base as a consultant. Dr. Stahakis has participated in research for several drug companies, the University of Arizona, and a three year study of skin cancer in Arizona focusing on prevention. He has also received Awards from the American Cancer Society for his work with indigent people and the Outstanding Volunteer award for his work in tattoo removal for juveniles. He has also been named teacher of the year from Midwestern University for his work training doctor and nursing students.
Family is a focal point for Dr. Stathakis, he spends time with his children and five grandchildren as well as relaxing by spending time outdoors boating, fishing, and hiking.
