Mathew Gowans, M.D., is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with South Carolina Spine Center, a physician practice of Self Regional Healthcare. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. and a Doctorate of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He then went on to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C. Dr. Gowans is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In his spare time he enjoys sailing, mountain biking, trail running, hiking, playing chess and spending time with his family.
