Dr. DeSpain is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, serves on the Board of the Missouri Dermatologic Society and is a member of the Missouri State Medical Association. Dr. DeSpain served full time on the faculty at University Hospital for several years before starting a private practice in 1992. He continues to teach medical students at his practice. Dr. DeSpain also analyzes pathology slides. His practice has evolved to offer a full range of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. In his spare time he enjoys time with his family, fly fishing, golf, boating, exercising and cycling. He enjoys cooking and tasting new wines and traveling with his wife Darla who works in Columbia as a Nurse Practitioner. Dr DeSpain has two grown daughters, two grown stepsons, and three stepsons still at home.
