Brief Intro

Dr. Taylor received his B.A. in biology from Lafayette College in 1990 and his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1994. He completed his surgical training at the Squire Urological Clinic of Columbia University s Presbyterian Medical Center in 2000. A commissioned officer in the United States Navy (LCDR) since 1990, he served on active duty as a staff urologist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Science from 2000-03. While at Walter Reed he was an active investigator in the Department of Defense s Center for Prostate Disease Research. Dr. Taylor has been board certified in urology since 2002 and recertified in 2011. He recently completed a Masters of Science Degree in Clinical and Translational Medicine at the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO), the Society for Basic Urologic Research (SBUR) and serves on the national think tank for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN). He has authored many publications as well as contributed to book chapters. He has been the recipient of the Dennis W. Jahnigen Scholars award administered by the American Geriatrics Society and the AUA s post residency research award, and is currently supported by the American Cancer Society for his work in aging and bladder cancer. Dr. Taylor has extensive training in urologic cancer surgery and urinary tract reconstruction. Dr. Taylor's practice focuses on the care and treatment of bladder cancer, and complex urinary tract reconstruction.
