Dr. Trantham received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1972 and 1973, respectively. He received his MD from Duke University in 1976. He remained at Duke for a six month internship in Anesthesiology before completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke in 1980. He then completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at Duke in 1983.
In 1983 Dr. Trantham joined Cardiology Consultants of Pensacola, and he developed their Cardiac Electrophysiology program. In 1998, Dr. Trantham joined the Cardiovascular Institute of Northwest Florida, and again he was responsible for developing our Electrophysiology program as he had done in Pensacola.
Dr. Trantham is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease with added qualifications in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and his clinical areas of interests include general, invasive and interventional cardiology as well as electrophysiology.
