Brief Intro

Dr. DiGiacomo received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. After his residency in General Surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton NJ, he returned to the University of Pennsylvania as a Fellow in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, and member of the faculty for 4 years. Dr. DiGiacomo spent 6 years in the Department of Surgery at Nassau University Medical Center, Long Island, New York. He served as the Associate Director of Trauma, Director of the Surgical Residency, and Acting Chairman of Surgery and oversaw the education and training of 27 surgical residents annually. In 2004 he became the Director of The Heroes of September 11 Trauma Center at Jersey City Medical Center. The site inspection by the American College of Surgeons in 2006 resulted in a perfect score, an achievement attained by only 20% of trauma centers across the country. Dr. DiGiacomo was Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgery in 1996 and in Surgical Critical Care in 1997, and by the American Board of Preventative Medicine in Hyperbaric Medicine in 2003. He is skilled in General Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy, Advanced Wound Care, and Hyperbaric Medicine. He has authored over 50 publications, abstracts, and book chapters, and presented at numerous National meetings. Dr. DiGiacomo brings this wealth of experience to his private practice in central New Jersey, and has been serving the people of Monmouth County since 2007.
