Joan S. Purcell, MD, has practiced medicine since 1995. She offers comprehensive care for teens and provides treatment options for a variety of conditions including menstrual problems, mood and eating disorders, contraception and non-operative sports injuries. She also works with patients and their families to develop, set and achieve health goals in a supportive environment. She credits her success by focusing on patient wellness combined with her sense of humor and transparency. Her experience as a collegiate basketball player, previous position as team physician for youth rugby, and assisting high school and college football teams gives her a unique advantage when treating athletes. When not seeing patients, Dr. Purcell enjoys hiking, cycling, walking her dogs, kayaking, tennis, gardening, swimming and watching her three sons and husband play rugby and football.
