He went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 1973, before completing his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) internship/residency at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts in 1976. He is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon wtih full diplomate status.
