Certified by the American Board of Urology and the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Katz is a founding partner of Associates in Urology in 1989.
Since 1976, he has been an Attending in Urology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston where he has served as Chief of Urology in 1984 and again in 1994, and currently serves on the Medical board and the Operating Room Committee, as well as the Surgical residency Selection Committee.
Earlier in 1976, hew was appointed as Attending Physician at Irvington General Hospital where he became Chairman of the Department of Surgery in 1989 and has served as a member of the executive Committee since 1984. He also has been an Assistant Attending Physician at Columbus Hospital In Newark since 1989. He was on the Physician'' Advisory Committee for the Stone Center of NJ from its inception until recently and was also on the Board of Trustees of the Center for Communication Disorders in West Orange. He is listed in Who's Who in America and the World.
Dr. Katz has received post-graduate training and certification in extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, artificial urinary sphincters, inflatable penile prostheses, endourology, and fertilization via electro-ejaculation and artificial insemination. He as co-authored several articles for the Journal of Urology and is a member of many national, state, and county urological and medical groups. He is the Urological Consultant to the State Board of Medical Examiners and also serves as a member of the Alumni Admissions Committee for his alma mater, Penn State University.
He completed his general surgery residency at New York Medical College, Grasslands, hospital in Valhalla, New York and Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. His urology residency was completed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, Montefiore Medical Center, and Lincoln Hospital.
