A Puget-Sound-area native, Dr. Peterson earned his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. He took a residency in internal medicine at Internal Medicine Spokane and followed with a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Washington. Dr. Peterson has been a medical technology consultant and a research associate at ICOS Corp, which discovers and develops treatment for inflammation and other diseases. He frequently lectures and has published research on a wide variety of diseases and disorders. Dr. Peterson is active in clinical research and is currently a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Washington. He is president of the Washington Rheumatology Alliance, an organization devoted to patient and physician education and advocacy for patient access to quality rheumatologic care. Dr. Peterson has a passion for all manner of outdoor activities and is an avid gardener, cook and woodworker. He enjoys antiques and is currently learning to make wine.
