Jason S. Debley, MD, MPH, is attending physician and director of the Flexible Bronchoscopy Service at Seattle Children’s Hospital and assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He received his MD from Northwestern University Medical School and completed his pediatrics internship and residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He completed his pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Seattle Children’s and earned an MPH from the University of Washington.
He has clinical expertise in asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, restrictive lung diseases of childhood and the management of acute and chronic respiratory failure. Â His research is focused on the evaluation of noninvasive measures of airway inflammation in exhaled breath, in particular exhaled nitric oxide, to assist in the diagnosis and management of asthma, with a particular interest in the diagnosis asthma in wheezy infants and toddlers and a better understanding the origins of asthma in young children. Â Dr. Debley is also investigating the role of the airway epithelium in the development of airway remodeling and augmentation of airway inflammation in asthma, using bronchial and nasal epithelial cells from children with and without asthma to conduct in vitro research using an air-liquid interface model system.
