Dr. Janavi Rao, board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management, provides specialized treatment options for acute and chronic pain, and prides herself on treating the entire patient. She is a firm believer in utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to treat every patient who comes through her doors. Her special interests include women’s pain, pediatric pain and post-laminectomy pain syndrome. Dr. Rao was born in Miami and raised in Bangalore, India. She earned her medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and went on to complete her anesthesiology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where she served as chief resident of her class. She completed her interventional pain medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan. She practiced anesthesiology and interventional pain management in Michigan prior to moving to Tucson
