Dr. James Daskalos, known to most patients as "Dr. D", was born and raised in Portland Oregon. He graduated from the University of Portland and received his Medical Degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Kirksville Missouri. He began his medical career in Tillamook Oregon in 1971 providing Family Practice and Emergency Care. In 1977, he began working in the Emergency Department in Roseburg Oregon at Douglas Community Hospital and has continued to practice in the community for the past 30 years. "Dr. D" began the very first Urgent Care Clinic in Roseburg in 1984. Since that time he has also been involved in Occupational and Rehabilitation practices. For the last 9 years, he has been the Medical Director for the Cow Creek Health and Wellness Center. Dr. Daskalos has served on many local community boards and organizations. He has been president of the RHS Indian Booster Club. He was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Oregon State Board of Medical Examiners. "Dr. D" has been married to his wife, Mary Ellen, for the past 44 years. They have raised four children – 3 sons, Mark an engineer, Paul and Matthew are both physicians, and a daughter, Jamee a professional entertainer. Each of the boys have 3 children, thus 9 wonderful grandchildren, round out the immediate family picture! Dr. Daskalos is excited to return to his "home" in Urgent Care Medicine. He is proud to be a member of the staff at Evergreen Family Medicine and is extremely impressed by the quality of care and the commitment to the community that he has found here.
