Dr. Thomas, a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, is one of the most innovative, peer-acclaimed experts in the field. He completed an Otolaryngology residency at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, a surgical residency at Yale University, and a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Northwestern University. He teaches Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to UIC medical students, residents, and fellowship physicians. With more than 25 years of expertise, he is involved in the development of the latest techniques and procedures in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Acclaimed for his practice, research, and leadership, he frequently publishes in the most prestigious medical journals and textbooks. He has authored more than 200 scientific papers and publications, including six textbooks. Heralded by colleagues, Dr. Thomas has previously served as president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery No other individual has ever led all three prestigious organizations.Dr. Thomas' specialties include rhinoplasty (cosmetic surgery of the nose), blepharoplasty (cosmetic surgery of the eyelids), facelift (the Thomas Safety Facelift Procedure), and multiple other cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures of the face, head and neck.
