Following this, they earned their Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State School of Medicine in 2008.Dr. Szymanski centers their research on leveraging data science techniques to gain a deeper understanding of diseases, with the objective of enhancing patient outcomes and patient safety. Their work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and they have given poster presentations and invited lectures nationally.Dr. Szymanski is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pathology and is board certified in Clinical Pathology, Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking and Clinical Informatics. In 2016, they won the Leo M. Davidoff Society Teaching Award and in 2021, Dr Szymanski won the Outstanding Teaching Award from Montefiore Einstein’s Department of Pathology.
