Dr. Budd received his undergraduate degree in 1974 from Northwestern University, where he was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree in 1979 from the University of Chicago School of Medicine, where he was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed both his internal medicine residency and hematology fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, before assuming a faculty position at the University of Rochester. Dr. Budd is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and by the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of five national and local societies, including the American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine, Rochester Society of Internal Medicine (RSIM), State of New York Medical Society, and the Rochester Academy of Medicine. He has authored or co-authored several medical articles and book chapters. In May 1985, Dr. Budd presented his co-authored publication, "Predicting Utility of Bone Marrow Exam in Evaluation of Hypoproliferative Anemia" at the American Federation for Clinical Research National Meeting. His current primary research interest concerns Phase II and Phase III trials of pharaceuticals.
