Brief Intro

I joined Family Care Network and Bunks Medical Center in1999. In 2011, we moved and became Bellingham Bay Family Medicine. Prior to moving here I practiced in St. Louis, Missouri for 10 years. I was born in Seattle, went to Haverford College in Philadelphia for my undergraduate degree, and then returned to Seattle for medical school. I graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1984 and completed my family medicine residency in Charleston, South Carolina in 1987. I married my wife, Dr. Maggie Kinsella, while in Charleston and then traveled around the world for nine months before settling in her home town of St. Louis. I served a two-year term (2008-2010) as Chief of Medical Staff at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center. I remain a part of the medical staff even now, because of my professional interest in quality of care and patient safety processes. You will find me running the many trails we have here in Whatcom County, bicycling, skiing at Mt. Baker, and enjoying all of the great local experiences in Bellingham. Maggie and I also have three children, who are always a top priority and great enjoyment for me.
